• Latah Creek Wine Cellars was established in 1982 in Spokane - a major metropolitan area in the Northeast corner of Washington State . The winery is one of only a few family owned and operated wineries within the State. Mike Conway, with over 32 years of winery experience, and his wife Ellena pair together to run one of the most successful small wineries in this relatively new viticultural region. While Mike assumes the management, winemaking and vineyard tasks, Ellena takes on all the gift shop, special events, accounting and fiscal responsibilities.
  • At Latah Creek our stylistic aim is simply to create wines that taste like the grapes from which they came. This is accomplished by using traditional winemaking principles and by the selection of exceptional fruit.
  • Subjecting the wines to the least amount of processing and handling possible enables these natural varietal flavors to remain intact from grape to bottle. v Our major goal is to produce wines with natural balance and complexity, providing a perfect complement to food and absolute enjoyment by themselves.
  • Production at Latah Creek is maintained at about 15,000 cases annually. Today, roughly 10 percent of that total consists of red wines while another 15 percent is devoted exclusively to Johannisberg Riesling. The remaining 75 percent is comprised of smaller lots of Chardonnay, Muscat Canelli and proprietary blends such as Maywine, Huckleberry d' Latah, Spokane Blush, and wines sold only at the winery: Moscato d' Latah, Semillon Blanc and Natalie's Nectar.
