• Grande Ronde Cellars was established in 1997. The winery has four partners who have been active in all aspects of the wine business. Dave Westfall oversees the marketing of the company and runs the offsite tasting room in downtown Spokane . Dave also works with the growers in developing the acres allotted to them in Seven Hills and Pepper Bridge vineyards. Michael Manz is the winemaker. John Mueller works with the distributors to develop the brand in Washington and other markets. J. David Page has been involved in the wholesale distribution business with Dave Westfall before starting this venture.
  • At Grande Ronde Cellars the goal is to produce wines that will continue to improve with aging. We use 100% French Oak barrels. The Chardonnay is aged on the lees in French oak barrels and allowed to settle for two months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. The reds are aged in 50% new French Oak, 25% one year and 25% two year old oak. The press is located on a hill and the juice is allowed to flow freely into our tanks. We take every precaution to make sure that the grapes are handled as gently as possible to allow the fruit to emerge in the aging process.

  • Seven Hills Vineyard was recently recognized as one of the ten best vineyards in the world by Wine and Spirits Magazine. The quality of fruit from Seven Hills and Pepper Bridge are the cornerstone of our red wines. Our chardonnay is from Willard Vineyard in Prosser. These grapes help us produce a rich, Burundian style chardonnay.

  • Grande Ronde Cellars produces 1500 cases annually. The majority of our production, roughly 90 percent, consists of red wines and 10 percent is Chardonnay.
  • n 2005 we will be releasing our first wines from Pepper Bridge Vineyard and a Bordeaux Blend from Seven Hills Vineyard. We also have plans to release a red table wine from Seven Hills Vineyard.
