Maybe it’s because we’re just a bit beyond Washington State’s well-trodden wine roads. Or maybe it’s our pioneer heritage. Whatever the reasons, Spokane is home to 19 increasingly renowned wineries with a unique vintner mindset that inspires intense rich reds, crisp whites, complex blends and even a bit of the bubbly.
Crafted from grapes from the heralded
appellations of Walla Walla, Yakima and Columbia Valley, our family-run
wineries embrace a hands-on vintning process that is often lost at larger
wineries. In fact, the owners often create the wines themselves. Or,
as one of our winery members noted, "We intimately know every grape
that is put into the bottle."
